children have certain financial emotional and social needs. It is easier to manage them when there are two people contributing but it is not impossible to manage as a single parent. It is rather rare that someone ends up as a single parent because of a wonderful positive situation. We should be helping single parents and rewarding them for doing them best, when they do their best, not punishing them for trying
