In Arabic it's 'bin'; Hence 'Yeshua bar/ben David'' becomes "Esa bin Daoud"

The word 'annointed' is literal.
Which is what Litterally happened at His baptism.

Perhaps the Hebrew lexicon I cut and pasted from was some how wrong where your wiki post was magically more accurate.
You do know what a lexicon is right?
here are a few examples:https://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1T4TSHB_enUS342US342&q=hebrew+lexicon
Find one and type in Messiah and see what comes up I bet it will look a little something like this:
Strong's number 04899
mashiyach (מָשִׁיחַ )
1) anointed, anointed one
a) of the Messiah, Messianic prince
b) of the king of Israel
c) of the high priest of Israel
d) of Cyrus
e) of the patriarchs as anointed kings
Hmmmm Now where did you see something like that before???

Quote:Matthew And Luke.
Except they disagree.
Another of those contradictions which jesus freaks insist are not contradictions at all.
One is of His Mother and the Other is of His Legal or Step Father's side.
We need Joseph's genealogy because it could be argued that He was not technically the son of David, and We need His mothers side because He was not a blood relative of David. Because Mary and Joseph were not brother and sister we have two genealogies that both run through the house of David to full fill that prophesy no matter how you look at it.
