I did no such thing. I made no comparisons whatsoever. I am simply saying that being anti-religion is a pretty huge blanket statement that covers many who do not deserve your ire. Now, with that being said, is there are best of the KKK? I mean, really?
Quote:I made mention of the KKK more towards my being anti-freedom and less honorable for having an "anti" stance towards any given thing.
Rhythm, honey, you are drinking and arguing with me again. I didn't say being anti-anything was not honorable.
Quote:Religion isn't a specific thing, is that the line at present?
It's your line, at present, yes. My line was "religion is not a specific group," which is demonstrably true. The Girl Scouts is a specific group. "Campers" is not specific.
Quote:Strange, because it seems to have it's own word, and we seem to be able to distinguish it from other things....
I can see how you would think it is strange, what with you reading it wrong and all.

Quote:I think I've touched on this before Shell, speaking specifically towards christianity (since you invoked that terrible little ghoul), and letting go of the literal bits, if one merely believes that Jesus was the son of god and we are somehow redeemed through him, that's enough to be "anti" for me.
The god of the Bible was presumably a god before the Bible. Therefore, believing Jesus was the son of god is not necessarily contemptible. I will not argue that there are many who do not go for the whole spiel, but there are some. These good people find comfort in their faith. Why propose we take that from them.
Just to be clear, I am more often than not infuriated by religious people, but I try to take them person by person and not paint them all with the same brush. As a result, I know a few worth keeping.

I didn't try to attribute these things to you. I don't think you're being critical. I don't think you're running a draft here.
I'm trying not to be critical, either. I'm trying to understand how antitheists understand their positions or really justify their positions.
