This is exactly why I can't understand why you hold such a position. How can you determine the intention of the universe. Or whether it was "created" with intention. It's something you simply CANNOT prove and I have not seen any evidence whatsoever to suggest anything like it. It's the interpretation of the human mind which gives things purpose.

Unless I'm shown otherwise then taking a leap of faith that the universe was created with intention is irrational.

Again, you keep saying that I hold a position, as though it was the only one that I hold. It might be simpler to understand if I put it into the context of how I live my life. I don't go around investigating paranormal events, trying to levitate objects with my mind, or shoot laser beams out of my fricking eyeballs. I rely on the scientific method to provide answers to all the unanswered questions that I have about the universe. As much as I'd love the universe to have this connecting link, if science were to unlock all the secrets of the universe tomorrow I'd have plenty to keep me amazed until the day I die - shit, there is already enough scientific knowledge out there to keep me more than entertained. Yes, the beliefs that I hold about the possibility of god are based on many things which I cannot prove, but nor can they be disproved. I know, the burden of prove lies with me, but I'm not trying to convince anyone because I'm not even convinced myself. I simply believe in the possibility of these things. My morning coffee will not be ruined by the revelation that I am a complete nut job for doing so.
