Yes, we can see how you pathologically fashion your imaginary friend to cater to your every whim. Too bad for you that no one is fooled by your silly bluffs. We all grew up and gave up superstition and childish fears. Sorry you didn't.

I think somewhere deep down in the pits of his psyche, he knows this. He represses it, or if it surfaces, he has been taught to interpret it as unreasonable and diabolical, doubt! He is suffering. And I think Carl Jung summed up why:

"Neurosis is always a substitute for legitimate suffering"
