God created the universe because he is a God of love and community. He was with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit and out of the fullness of that relationship created the universe to share in his love and community.
Really? Then why create planets, stars and galaxies that we can't even see? In fact, why create anything outside of our planet and sun? Why would anything else be necessary?
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.
