Poverty in the USA is a scandal

There is a lot of baggage attached with being born in a lower socioeconomic area. The schools are not as good, there is violence, unprotected sex, ect. Imagine how wonderful we could become if we could just raise up the slums. It's not a matter of them trying to get out on their own. It's not very effective. We need to give them better education and more positive role models to look up to.
