Very very weak, slippery conditions that are subjective and can be moved like goal posts...
Justifiable cause and provocation are within the eyes of the beholder and culture.
Were this during the founding of certain Semitic religions, I suspect the attitudes would be different.

Rape is bad, but it is not anywhere near the equivalent of taking a life. Other crimes car be far worse than rape and still not come anywhere near taking a life. Get over the stupid fucking littlemindedness about rape.
You may have no other recourse in stopping one without significant risk to the victim or yourself.
