I have to admit that I don't understand what you're getting at and why you want a debate about the topic. It's not a question about gods existing or not, as long as there are followers, they and others around them will be affected by their religious actions. There's can be no debate of something so obvious.

There is, gods and science don't really go hand in hand. You can state that psychology might have something to do with the matter, why people so readily believe in deities and are prepared to alter their lives in order to please fantasy creatures, but that is a whole another discussion.
Quote:No we'arent stupid. You belive some thing that is there and waste your time on it. So if you pray to make a good business and i go study every time while you pray and learn economics for example, i will be more successful.
Minimalist was calling theists stupid. By saying "we aren't stupid" you're claiming to be a theist yourself. So, which camp do you really belong to?
But I do agree, studying is more constructive than praying.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura
