All of my yes.
I've tried Steam via PoL a couple times (Ubuntu) and aside from some limited success (Portal worked well, L4D was somewhat playable... this is running on a phenom 840 + Radeon HD6770, btw) it couldn't hold a candle to running Steam natively in windows.
Any idea what I might have been doing wrong? Is there some sort of video card driver-business you're supposed to do in wine?
