Iconography? The modern Tea Party has stolen the iconic image from history. In fact, the dumping of the tea in Boston wasn't known as the Tea Party until after 50 years had passed from the event. I bet you didn't know that two other colonies had sent the tea back under the same protest. What is more disconcerting to me is the fact that modern Tea Partiers don't know dick about history. How exactly does a large portion of the electorate self identify as Tea Partiers when the original complaint was against a government mandated tax that enriched a corporation...the East India Company?
OWS acts more in accordace with the spirit of the original grievance than the 'appeal to authority bigoted bible thumpers' do. Only through Christ could a bunch of priviledged bunch of twats convince a gullible, but significant, portion of the electorate to adhere to the idea that making them richer enables the downtrodden.
