Actually, the original tea partiers in Boston seemed somewhat more akin in their immediate interests to the occupy movement anti-globalization crowd. The British wanted the efficient corporation with global reach - east Indian company - to outsource American tea to where it could be grown more efficiently. Tea party localvores objected.
