There were eyewitnesses though who saw Martin on top of Zimmerman, beating the crap out of him. Whilst I agree that Zimmerman's decision to follow Martin was ill-advised, it was not illegal to do so, and it certainly isn't an act of aggression to challenge someone. I should also point out that the cops told him no such thing; they said "Ok, we don't need you to do that." That is not an order in any form.
