Absurd. It's like telling them that you don't need to 'believe' that hemoglobin transports oxygen to your cells, that most NSAIDs work as COX-inhibitors, that human and chimp DNA is about 96% the same, that washing your hands reduce the risk of spreading infections further. It's not about 'believing', it's about knowing and understanding the concept and (overwhelming) evidence.
