And as I have shown above the permission of the UK would be required as well. So why have to go through both the UK and the Swedish procedure when they could just have gone through the UK alone.

Everyone knows what they want and what they'd give to get it.
Its the entire reason this farce was set up, to drive him out of the wood works.
Sweden might decide to withhold him from the US but I think thats unlikely, don't you?
