I Would Like To Talk to Atheists Who Aren't Assholes. Do Any of You Exist?

Well, I'm a distressed Catholic looking for answers to some very important questions, but so far the atheists who have responded to me have been rude and obnoxious.

And you are confirming my opinion, which I formed in another forum, that most atheists are assholes and really, they don't know how to debate or carry on a civilized conversation.

However if you are open to other ideas, then any accusation that others other than Catholics are rude an obnoxious is bullshit of the first order! To prove this to yourself join a forum about something other than philosophy or religion (fishing or pottery for instance) get to know the other voices on it, and then try and work out what their views on religion are. Now I know that the community around a catholic church is very tight, and if you are looking for that sort of closeness elsewhere you are unlikely to find it in many places, being english the only equivalent to that I can think of is in a Rugby club. I did not join this forum for community, I personally like difference, I like disagreement, I find it informative. I think a lot of atheists are driven by logic, and this again will not create that warm fuzzy home fire feeling, but there are those here who are undergoing some persecution because of their thoughts and need a place to go where they are not excluded, so they do want a community. But if you want to find out what others think about religion, and philosophy and similar stuff all I can say is this is the place on the net par excellence. And this is a asshole of the first order saying that. PS sorry for the block of text my return key has gone on the blink.
