RE: I Would Like To Talk to Atheists Who Aren't Assholes. Do Any of You Exist?

I'll have you know I'm a cunt, not an asshole.
After reading the first page I skipped to the end. All athiests = assholes because all the ones you encountered were? What a silly thing to say. If you stick around here a while you'll quickly realise that all atheists aren't assholes and, most of the time, their asshole-ish-ness (or lack thereof) has nothing to do with their atheism. I suspect one of the reasons Catholic schools and forums have a 'nicer' environment (if they do - I'm assuming this for the sake of the following point) is because of greater homogeneity in their populations. Conflict arises from differences of opinion.
I think it's a mistake to judge people by the groups they belong to rather than on an individual basis. I don't judge individual Catholics by the actions of other Catholics, nor do I judge conservatives, (illicit) drug users, single parents or vegetarians by their respective groups. I've met enough of all of them to know they run the gamut from despicable assholes to great people. That nuance is lost in generalisation from a few personal experiences.
