I briefly skimmed over an interesting book written by Paul Davies that made an interesting point about God and time.
If time has no beginning then that implies that the universe has existed infinitely, or an infinite period of time. But mathematically that would mean that all events that could have possibly occurred, would have. If time never began nor ended then at what point do we come into existence on the timeline?
Pretend you have a vinyl. Simple. Now imagine you have a song that never ends or begins. Its a continuous song or a continuous loop. Now try and imagine that song is recorded physically onto the vinyl. An infinite track onto a finite space. Imagine that the vinyl can be spun continuously uninterrupted and hence the song can be played continuously with no break. Pretty tricky isn't it? Lastly, pretend you had the needle and you wanted to listen to the song from the start. Where do you put the needle?
An interesting topic.
