Quote:So, you're claiming that god, who is eternal and unchanging, only wanted us to kill livestock for him 3,000 years ago? What happened? Did Yahweh get tired of the smell of burnt meat?Christ died for our sins taking away the need for animal sacerfice.
Quote:Me, I find that pretty damn ironic. If we had to kill some extra pigs or cattle today, I'm sure we have the food stores to get away with it; we waste enough food as is. Back then, though, a couple of cattle could be the difference between surviving the winter and starving to death.animals sacerficed to God were usally sold/eaten. Not all sacerfices were Burnt offerings.
Ok, first off, why were any burnt offerings needed?
Even if we overlook that absurdity, there's still quite a bit of conflict of interests here. Can't anyone see it?
Ok, let's look at it this way: I'm a priest. God wants a cheeseburger..... and I'll go ahead and eat it for him. God wants $100..... and I'll go ahead and pocket that for him. God wants to have sex with Lindsey Lohan..... and he'll be possessing my body to do it. God wants to kill that guy and take his house...... and I'll be sleeping there to watch it for him.
Basically, all a priest has to do is be a self serving dick, demand everything he wants from the people and justify it by saying he's doing it for gawd. I mean, really, what's the difference between that and a huckster like Oral Roberts?
