Greece is now building a F1 racing track for 100 million euros!

they must be realy damn certain that some race will be held there otherwise they wouldn`t build it. but still, considering the current situation it sounds very stupid.

since Turkey`s current economic groath is so breathtaking, maybe greece should be reinterduced under turkish rule

No thanks. We had enough of the Greeks, and I believe they had enough of us, so it's better if our people best not live under the same citizenship not now, or in the near/far future. Our so called "economic growth" of today is nothing more than an illusion. It was archived by pimping our natural resources, crucial companies and services to foreigners. The money that flowed in caused the "economic growth", which is in truth, nothing more like a drug-it makes you feel good for a certain amount of time, but when you get down from it, you understand that you were just living a false dream.

Then there will be riots by the Turkophobes in the streets of Paris and Berlin.

Let them riot and kill. How many of us can they really slay? And what good will it do for them? I wish none of our kin had to live under the rule of a foreign nation. But well, in time,they too will return back here. I really see the Germans as a friendly nation. We had some unfortune run-ins, and glorious alliances, but the French are really a nation I neither want as friends, nor enemies. They are unpredictable, no one knows how they will act.

You really underestimate the stupidity of governments.

It can be the case that in the future, people will hold races in Greece. I mean, they held the olympics there, so why not a race? But really, what good is it for them to have an F1 race track even if there are annual races held on it? They should invest this money into infastructure, and then, they can build all the tracks they want.

That's assuming the F1 world will even be interested. It's a massive gamble. I think what people are complaining about is that there are plenty of other investments that would boost the economy, most in the short term which is what they need right now.

They could be interested. But I certainly don't think that the economy of Greece can be saved by races.
