Well they're our "allies," ostensibly speaking, anyways. And the oil lobbyists are among the largest and most influential in D.C....and they all have vested interests in Saudi Arabia's oil fields. See, Iraq wasn't selling us any oil and oil companies had no access to Iraqi oil fields, hence no lobbying against invasion of it but rather FOR it. Note of course that the price of oil did not go DOWN, it went UP, even though the supply has gone up and demand has actually lowered somewhat in the US. You want an actual conspiracy theory, just look at the oil companies. Hell, they don't even bother much with trying to hide it.
