Oops, I misread the thread title as 'illegal' instead of 'illogical'. What I should say is that near certainty that god doesn't exist is not illogical but in fact very logical. When you choose to round up from 99.99% to 100%, you are technically changing it from knowledge into a belief (albiet an educated one). So, it is slightly illogical to be a gnostic atheist, but I still think if by gnostic you mean personally certain, then it is okay.
