My point is that you can cure little to nothing. My point is that you can't stop an old woman from getting old, getting sick and dying. You don't want suffering in this life, but still, suffering comes.

My point is simple: atheists experience a higher power, if in no other way, by their suffering.
That "higher" power is reality - not your god.
