People do these things (and probably don't remember it) and call it "fun". I have never understood the bar/club atmosphere. Give me a pub where I can hear my friends actually talk, a good beer and meal and conversation.
Or better, a night out with a man dressed to the nines, wine and dinner and city lights and dark corners.
