Robert Eugene Poindexter was a legendary writer/producer of such classics as Thin Line Between Love and Hat (the song, not the movie) and Hypnotized. He and his brother Richard also wrote and produced songs for people like John Legend, The Chi Lites, Amy Winehouse, et al. to his credit, Uncle Bobby has 14 gold and platinum records.
Did I also mention he's my uncle? When I went to visit them in New York, he'd get up early every morning to go to the store and buy breakfast for me when no one else in the house was thinking about breakfast. That's my uncle.
