Perhaps the idiom is not translating - I meant merely that your opinion would be looked at from many different angles and other opinions; not that it would necessarily change anything.
And no, I can't agree because I don't think I have ever witnessed an atheist dissing someone's religious views because it's 'cool' to hate other people. Maybe I'm not versed enough in the internet, but I hear all the time that there are "haters" out there who "hate on" certain things because it's cool to be that way - it's never been anything to do with atheism and always to do with music or fashion, and seemed to be an accusation members of the in-group leveled at the out-group for disagreeing with them. For instance, I could call Cinjin a hipster/hater for disliking AC/DC, because that's my favorite band. In reality, Cinjin and I just have differences in opinion about music, and I don't call him anything of the sort because I'm mature enough to understand that and know that Cinjin is a good guy.
So what would happen here? That atheists would "hate on" religious people for something that shallow? I truly have never witnessed people being THAT immature, and I've seen some pretty retarded arguments bandied back and forth. The fact is, not everyone comes to atheism from a position of logic or rationality, so there's no reason to expect that they would be logical or rational people. However, a good majority of them would probably agree that religions is stupid and say so - whether it's raging or just talking. There's a time and place for both, if you ask me. And maybe people exist who do it to try and look clever...but I have never seen them, and thus I challenged you saying you were tired of it. Perhaps this only goes on in Europe.
It saddens me that you seem to be writing me off as one of those atheists that "rips" on other people's opinion because I think it's cool to do so. I promise you, with all honesty (whether you believe me or not is up to you) that I rip people up only when I think they are wrong or saying something indefensibly stupid. I don't care whether or not you or anyone else finds my responses clever or insightful. I gave you my reasons why people who exist to disprove things - gently or otherwise - should be allowed to do their thing. If you still find this unacceptable, than that's up to you. Would you say the same about irreligious things like homeopathy? Do you just object to us being wet blankets because it hurts people's feelings? I'm rather curious now. Is it tone? The fact that we say something is stupid at all? Should we all just hold in our opinions so that we don't bother the religious? What about the religious? I can't believe they are so peaceful there that they hold their own opinions in. Here in America, the word "Jesus" could practically be used as a comma, it's so prevalent in the speech of certain areas. What then?
