The Bible is a single source for almost all of its assertions. There are no independent works corroborating the Bible, and physical evidence almost always contradicts what it says about almost everything relevant.
Tricky gamble when your eternal soul is the wager, isn't it? If you can't believe everything in the Bible, why believe any of it at all, including the existence of God, when that itself might be one of the priest's lies?
