Everyone straining on the knat as usual...
The focus of Jesus' doctrine isn't for the cozy climate, eye-blink of time we're on this planet! It's about obtaining Eternal Life!
Whats Jesus to say? Perhaps: "If you feel the need, and have a few extra denari...it might be nice to give some to the poor."
Like everything Jesus says, this is a message for those with eyes, ears, and hearts to understand! And those who don't... to hate.
We as Christians aren't the decipering tool (as much as you like to give us credit for) for a personal message! It either makes sense to you, or it doesn't.
A TRUE BELIEVER understands the Heart of the word, and sees the reason for it's universal need, as spoken and written!
And really now....Who but Jesus could've said this stuff and still be a cause of controversy 2000 years later? When I think about it...IT'S PERFECT!!
Matt 6:33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
