The number one reason not to follow Christianity

Jesus is a dick to trees.
Matthew 21:18-22 Wrote:Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered. When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked. Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. The tree did nothing to deserve that... in Mark's account it's mentioned that figs weren't in season. So it's not like the poor thing could help it.
And they say Jesus is loving and forgiving...

Theists confuse fags with figs. It was always Jesus stating he hated figs. After all, Jesus never mentioned anything about fags.

Yeah, that was pretty unchrist-like of him. Killing a tree because it wasn't bearing fruit at a time when it shouldn't be expected to bear fruit. Then he says something to his followers that can easily be tested and proven false.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

This is the #1 reason not to be a Christian?
What if your neighbor cuts down a tree and does not give you a reason, does he then become a 'bad' person to you?
Jesus cursed this tree to illustrate a point about 'fruitless' followers. It was a warning to not 'be a follower' of Christ and not do anything.
Just incase you still don't understand Jesus killed the tree so people could understand what would happen to them if they say they are one thing (Christian/fig tree) and not produce the 'fruit' of what they say they are supposed to be.

But the tree did produce figs, when it was in season. He killed a tree for not producing figs in a season where figs normally didn't grow. That's stupid.
