We are 'just normal people'. I have a job, a girlfriend, I go to concerts, I surf several times a week, I visit family and friends, I post on audio forums, etc, etc, etc.
The only difference between me and those other atheists that are 'just normal people' is that I also like to post on atheist forums.
Some of us 'normal people' , along with doing all those other things that you feel make people 'normal', enjoy debate.
What makes us more gullible than atheists that don't post on forums?
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
