Anything that suggests a taboo and claims moral superiority(and worship of a state, or political party) can have the same zealous end result.
What he means by that and Sam Harris would also agree, the liberals and moderates in all religions need to stop coddling morons like this. Christianity has it's nuts too. Pat Robertson, the late Jerry Falwell. And even political nuts like Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh.
ANYTHING that is sold as morally superior, or sells a utopia(be it about religion, nationality, political party) ends up in this zealotry because of of others coddling their insanity.
So I'd say to Muslims, we might think you don't need your god anymore than anyone else needs theirs, but at a minimum if any Muslim wants my support they can help by telling their nuts to knock it off.
Ignoring them wont make them stop.
