Yeah, I guess it's pretty easy to have that kind of outlook when you do something for health reasons (I'm guessing that's your reason).
I became a vegetarian for the animals. People can tell me all they want about where I can find meat from animals that were raised humanely, the ONLY thing that matters to me is that it, as they say, had a face.
Because of my reasons for making such a choice, my folks had a tough time taking me seriously at first, especially since I was only 16 at the time (I'm 20 now). They saw it as "just a phase" and constantly mocked me, and that angered me to no end. All I wanted was for them to take me seriously. But then again, when was the last time anyone took a 16-year-old girl seriously for any reason whatsoever?
These days, they do still mock me, but I've stopped caring.
