Sex = male/female and all sorts of little things like trans and inersex. Gender = an amazing blender

Actually... considering that the brain is the most important sexual organ in the body: their gender identity (aka neurological sex, as some put it) takes precedence over their physical sex. Gender and sex are not interchangeable... as one is biological and the other is all in one's head (literal)

So what a person identifies themself as is of paramount importance in 'what they actually are'. In other words, the person you saw as a girl, actually is a guy "in a girl's body"

Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day
