Well not quite. Whilst the understanding of a child suffices (for children), as an intelligent adult you has responsibilities. That is, it is not beyond your means to accept all of scripture. I might agree with your objections, and incorporate them within full blown orthodox Christianity. It's a matter of understanding then.
Yes it is beyond my "means" to accept all of scripture... I cannot and will not accept human sacrifice. I cannot and will not accept animal sacrifice. I cannot and will not accept "Jesus" as my savior. I cannot and will not accept X-mas as a Christian holiday. I cannot and will not accept Sunday as the Sabbath. I cannot and will not accept Moses' divorce laws. I cannot and will not accept Moses' circumcission laws. I cannot and will not accept the notion that God ordered innocents be slaughtered. I cannot and will not accept the Greek myth of Tartarus.
Be an adult, take responsibility for your actions and realise that if you accept all of scripture blindly, you're contradicting it somewhere...
The simple believeth every word. Prove all things. Come, let's reason together...

Because I know where a "straight" answer gets me. Into a debate about you needing proof of God.
I'm a Christian and proud of it and I challenge anyone to prove otherwise.
