I don't think that was the point being made though. Christianity can cross over with paganism, as it does with every other belief. Atheists often accept the golden rule for example.
The golden rule is in virtually all religions and it's really the only form of practical morality you really need to know. You don't need hundreds of pages of commandments about how to treat your livestock and slaves.

The majority of atheists don't particularly hate Christianity they just don't think it's true. The same way you don't particularly hate Jains or Zoroastrians.
