Nobody's saying it is a key element of atheism. I just think atheists are lucky that some atheist nutcases haven't created an ideology of atheism where slaying theists wherever you find them is a key element of that ideology.
I was addressing the OP more than anyone else.
The one thing is, I think any atheist attempting to do something like that would have a much harder time finding success. If you want to convince people to kill, invoking an all-powerful and all-psychotic god is a great way to get their attention. Getting people to kill for a lack of a god is certainly not an impossible concept, but one which seems much less likely get you more than a few adherents.
