Except where other people mentioned it you mean? And even if they didn't, what was the problem with bringing it to the discussion? She did insult me. I only ever react. Even when her mistake is pointed out she still comes back with an insult.
I see that you didn't address what I wrote either.
...
I tried to contribute in that vein, but it is obvious that your intolerance won't permit you to allow my contribution. Fair enough. If you don't want me to keep responding, don't continue the performance. I made a point others raised first, and as I've shown, it was clearly not aimed at anyone, especially you.
Ladies and gentlemen, the finest example of that famous Christian forgiveness! Watch Fr0d0 The Methodist asks forgiveness of his daily trespasses as he forgives those who trespass against him! Oh yes, Fr0dz. I used to be a Methodist, too, I remember that very important little tenet being a very major part of the daily prayer of absolution, essentially asking god to forgive those as they forgave others. You're not doing a very good job of that, by the way.
Sad thing is that I'm going to come off as white-knighting, here, but...I've gone through the thread. I haven't seen anyone talking about women of possessive nature yet. If someone could kindly quote me where it was brought up, fresh eyes and all, I'll gladly recant my statement, but I'm just not seeing it.
Quote:I think it's harder for women too. If you're that type of personality that looks for a mate to provide a backbone to a family, then possessiveness is a natural desire.
Nobody was talking about that. I went back, I've read through it and I just don't see it. Nobody was talking about looking for a mate to provide a backbone to a family, nor about possessive tendencies, and that, by the way, Vae, is where I get the non-sequitur from; it's out of nowhere, and I just don't see where it was being discussed. I'm not offended or angry at this, I'm just utterly bemused because Frod0's response comes right the hell out of left field and when several others start going "uh...what?" he suddenly jumps into this whole blanket-statement + blunt insult thing.
And no, Frody, you weren't reacting equally. Her response was:
Quote:Fr0d0, I'm not the type of woman who is either, a. possessive, or b. looking for a backbone. I have one of my own, thanks. Actually, it's really interesting you would make that assumption.
Nope, marriage isn't exactly a goal of mine, and I definitely don't want kids. Your point about the brick wall is a good one, though. Thanks for your reply.
Your reply:
Quote:Yeah that wasn't aimed at you, but at the mention of it in this conversation. Nothing wrong with femininity of any flavour.
Perhaps that's why you specifically didn't want theists in here: because of your own prejudices. I bring no baggage. Don't assume.
So you jump right to accusation of prejudice and assumption when neither was made. How the hell are you getting either of those things from that comment? Also, mention of it? WHERE??
Her reply was not insulting, either:
[quote]You said "women". If you had said "some women" it might be different, but since you were replying to a thread I started, I think it was pretty safe to assume you were directing it at me. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, though, and conclude you just didn't think it all of the way through.
Oh what insulting behavior, Fr0d0! Truly, the immediately following:
Quote:Thinking doesn't seem to be your strong point huh? *hands rexbeccarox her atheist badge*
was very well-earned for such cruel attacks on your character.
And also typing " . . . . . . . " definitely warrants the reaction of "Don't troll me, moron."
No, frody. You're not being reactionary. You're just being a douchebag.
And oh don't do us any favors. WE don't need to apologize? You're fucking right nobody needs to apologize to you.
