Quote:Quotient???Correct. I dislike intelligence being measured... and then divided by age. If the test is supposed to be a measure of intelligence... then that alone will be more likely true than a variable that changes every year wether intelligence has increased or not (and by how much). Also, the timed component that is usually used as part of how to calculate intelligence leads to many problems with the test. I don't believe it is possible to accurately gauge intelligence with a written test (nor indeed perfectly gauge personality and whatnot with a written test). In fact, i think it is far from accurate... and based more upon the ability to answer quickly than the ability to answer well/fully. And so far as personality and other similar tests are concerned: I think that humans can be a more emotionally connected than a written test could ever understand. A written test can't test complexity very well at all (in example... yes, I am a very affectionate person to my friends... and also yes, I am very distant to people I don't know... but I can only answer one of the two or neither?)
I rather think that the IQ is an inaccurate (if precise) notation of of one's intelligence. Of course, i recognize that this is a personal disdain for the test... and that most people think differently than me on this issue

Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam
Where the dear and the strangers can play
Where sometimes is heard a discouraging word
But the skies are not stormy all day
