I understand. There was a time when I lacked a great deal of information on religion. Not just one or two but many. Christianity wasn't the first religion I studied. It was the last. I first studied greek religions, then scandinavian gods, then roman gods. It was interesting to read. Never took it as reality. I truly gave all view points huge consideration. But one thing kept me thinking...which was constant questioning. I would listion to theists from many religions and would notice that they all speak the same. All trying to sell their beliefs onto me. But I kept questioning it. Why and how.
Some questions couldn't be answered and so were evaded and some others just didn't make any sense. Constant excuses after another and so I realised I was an atheist. I just didn't believe a word that would come out of their mouths. One quote that I like alot is this one "When you realise why you dismiss other gods, you'd realise why I dismiss yours".
I advise on studing the god "odin", I found it to be an interesting read. An interesting tale.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
