It's fairly baffling to me too. The points that people bring up totally ignore the question of scale. Yes other animals can learn language or use tools, but to an nth degree to the scale that humans do.
We are no more distinct int he grand scheme of things in terms of scale than any other animal is distinct from another animal. Elephant to mouse, to human, to antelope, are all distinctly different to each other, and that's not even getting out of the mammals.
If you believe it, question it. If you question it, get an answer. If you have an answer, does that answer satisfy reality? Does it satisfy you? Probably not. For no one else will agree with you, not really.
