I see this from all manner of theists, unfortunately, it's a massive non-sequitur. I guess I'll have to remind you as I remind your christian brethren that the reason that I am not a muslim (or a christian) is not that I do not believe in your gods. The reason that I do not obey your gods has nothing to do with my casually dismissing them as idiotic fairy tales. The reason that I do not obey, is that when I assume that your gods actually exist and actually commanded or said this or that- I find it completely repulsive. Your respective gods and the orders you seem to think we simply must obey are deeply and profoundly insulting to me. I cannot, and will not, obey them - because no matter who commands these things, they are not worthy of compliance. Of those things that someone so thankfully inserted into the mouths of their gods that are not repugnant - the existence of said god is not required for my approval or compliance, nor would that gods existence bolster the authority of the order - it stands or falls on it's own merits.
Understand?
