It's entirely fair to decide on something aesthetic on minimal experience, it's personal and you like what you like ... I hate electronic music and rap despite the fact that I have heard one or two tracks that weren't too bad. I'm not right to do so, I'm not wrong ... it's just what I like and the same for you (and besides I can easily see how some won't like Slipknot ... I only partway like their music, sometimes even think I don't want to like them). The band split for a while and the lead singer formed Stone Sour ... I liked them much better.

No harm in it, I just don't feel inclined to go about hearing any more slipknot songs deliberately, I consider it a waste of my time because all the one's I've heard I find far too screamy and rancid sounding AND their masks are freaky.
I would certainly give radiohead more time and might get to like it but I tend to like emotional music so screamy, metal and so on (angry I suppose), upbeat dance (happy?) and ballads (particularly those that are about futile love and stuff ... evanescence does quite a bit of that). I quite like symphonic metal too ... kinda inspires strange emotions in me. From my old days I still like some funk & jazz funk, soul and rare Motown/Stax stuff and I admit to being a bit of a sucker for highly charged slow soul stuff (tear jerkers) ... again that emotional aspect.

And I probably will at jango radio (http://www.jango.com) at some point, I've heard most OF the song's that I have heard by them from there, I only heard one on MTV, I believe.
Try "Psychosocial" (I think it's slipknots latest single) ... I like it but the weird thing is my wife hates that kind of music yet strangely likes that one!!!!
We should have a kind of album club where we listen to a CD and then give ratings.
