As someone pointed out elsewhere, Islam is just Judaism 3.0.

And that was more a joke than anything.

It also should be noted that many of the restrictions of women (no learning, extreme dress, ownership, no religious participation) had been cast aside (ok, they cannot be Rabbis - yet!), and Christianity seems to have done so in areas ourside of the church as well. Islam, however, is very rigid in it's understanding and unwilling to bend, and it will take an internal revolution to change.

They are progressing, but in the wrong direction, when it comes to women.
