What I learned from Mass Effect is that you can love two people at war, and it's not true that you can't love the enemy of your friend. You can see people can fight each other for reasons not intended out of malice. I also learned sometimes moral decisions are so fuzzy and complicated, there is no real right or wrong, but perhaps just a better decision. I also saw great beauty in honoring a person's religiousness even if you see his religion as false. That was particularly with the scene with Thane in Mass Effect 3. I also saw the issue of forgiveness and mercy with Garus situation over justice. I also learned the beauty of not being so nationalistic( expressed in humanistic way in the game) but extending your love to other nations( other sentient life forms).

That series would be the legends of legends in gaming were it not for it's horrible ending.
