A U.S. Congressman to Dr. David Edwards, head of the Joint National Committee on Language, about the necessity of a modern commercial nation to be multi-lingual.

While funny, this is almost certainly a hoax. This interaction has been attributed to a handful of different American politicians, and there is no reliable record of this exchange actually taking place.

OK! Pity, though - it's a good one.

It is still believable though which does say something.
