I felt like Super Woman. After you push an 8.5 pound baby out of your body, you do realize if you can do that, you can do anything, as long as you put your mind to it.
You have to see that it is just your experience. Being strong is necessarily just a feminine thing, nor is being a parent. Women have all different ways to feel feminine and women who cannot have children are no less feminine for it.
Very true. This was my experience with birth. I've met as many, if not more, women who found their births to be anywhere from "meh" experiences to outright traumatic, horror stories.
What I'm trying to express is that I didn't really feel "feminine," rather a more primal femaleness. It didn't feel feminine to me, it was something female, empowering, and... I can't quite put my finger on it... Weird Earth-motherness? And I'm not a hippy. I don't really have the words to express it, and I'm not doing a very good job in my attempt, so I'm going to shut up now :-)
