It wasn't..however.
"because it's immoral" -OR- you could explain what makes it immoral. No shortage of ways to describe that, especially to a child. The idea of morality is descriptive, agreed. We use that descriptive concept as the basis to then prescribe behavioral goals. You won't actually be able to teach your child that "stealing is bad" without imparting morality upon them. What else should I call that, other than a teaching aide?
"Here's the target person. Heres why we're shooting for this target person. Here's how you can accomplish this goal." That, to me, I suppose, is the entirety of morality. We could have intentionally set the target, or it may have arisen as a function of our biology (and it looks like we've done both).
Back to the person I was responding to : All of the above describes why I feel that it's useful. I suspect that you make great use of it yourself, to be honest - even if you don't consider it (and that's kind of the amusing bit - it works so well that we take it for granted..lol).

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
