Sort of makes it sound like this particular group of people invented it... or had some psych problem... What amazes me is the sheer number of such lunatics that must have existed for a few of them to manage to convince so many [uneducated] people in the vicinity... and then, in time, spread the message as far as it has reached.
And I think that making it look like it's invented is not how a uber-powerful entity should make itself known to the whole of mankind...
