Once Texas turns blue it's game over yeah. I mean if Florida somehow stays blue, the Dems don't really need Texas at all, but if Texas turns blue, the Republicans will have to move to the centre-left basically and the United States will be like the United Kingdom.

Honestly, I think Texas is a safer Democrat bet long term, because Florida is where so many aging Republicans go to die. It will be a contentious state for a longer period of time, I think, whereas in Texas, whites are already a minority and within a decade or so, Hispanics will form a plurality and most of them won't vote for a party which clearly does not want them here.
