Perhaps the subject addressed by the book is complex, rather than the book itself? The book is certainly not complex. Its message is obvious as soon as you read the title.

I did not read it when I was still a Christian, and I doubt I would have agreed with the premise if I hadn't already been a slipping agnostic by the time I did.
